My name is Kirsten McCully, and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I work with adults over the age of 18 and I am based in Motherwell and Stepps.

Welcome to the home page for my wee business, born out of love for what I do!

If you find yourself here, perhaps you feel curious, or ready, to start therapy. I hope to have provided all the information you may need to make an informed decision; please do get in touch with me if you have any further questions.

I believe that therapy should be wholly focused on you and your needs. My mission with this business is to provide a space where you truly feel safe, and to explore how you can make enduring change in your life. I offer flexibility both in scheduling and with the application of techniques to provide a bespoke therapeutic experience.

I have been described as warm, calming, and supportive. The relationship between you and I is what is most important - I might have the qualifications, but you are the expert on you!

My journey towards this career started over a decade ago, studying Psychology as part of my Social Sciences degree. I went on to complete the HNC COSCA Counselling Skills course at the University of Aberdeen, and then my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT and Groupwork with ACT Counselling Services. I have volunteered with Samaritans and Rape Crisis in Aberdeen, as well as student placements with Lanarkshire Association of Mental Health and the Violence Reduction Unit (Police Scotland). I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker and within a Crisis service for adults who have complex and enduring mental health issues whilst studying, and have years of experience working with many different people, from all different walks of life, with all sorts of unique experiences.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics and principles. I attend regular supervision which allows me to reflect on my practice, as well as attending CPD (Continuous Professional Development) events to ensure my knowledge and skills are relevant and current. I am fully insured to conduct work as a qualified therapist.

When I am not a therapist...

I am kept busy with my family and getting out in nature. I love going for road trips, and big walks out in our stunning countryside. I adore travelling and hope to see as much of the world as possible.

I love creative writing and have self-published two books - a bucket list dream of mine!

My love for food has no bounds. I enjoy cooking, experimenting with flavours, and trying new restaurants and exploring different cultures where possible.
